I'm a little curious as to what background the art itself is from. I'm not sure if I phrased that right, but it's the best I could think of. I think the art is absolutely beautiful! I love the design, and the tower is so pretty. The clothes are absolutely incredible, and simply the way you drew the girl is amazing! She's so pretty. You're amazing at drawing, I can hardly believe how good this is!
Are you asking about the cultural background of the costumes and architecture, and so on? The original Rapunzel fairytale is German (it was collected by the Brothers Grimm), but this artist has set the tale in India and dressed the characters in traditional Indian clothing. In Hindu tradition, certain gods and heroes are depicted with blue skin as Rapunzel's prince is in this illustration. (I am not the artist, I just noticed that no-one had answered your question.)
Auuuuuuuuugh, how absolutely gorgeous~!! I really really love the perspective here, so dynamic, and the contrast between the warm and cool tones is terrific. Their faces are just really superb and man, I have a huge weakness for braids so that makes it even better, hahahah!
